I've got to get my technique up and running. Evenness and a nice nuance should be balanced with speed. I should play more Mozart.
Once I'm done with my examination, I think I shall stop music lessons with ms. chan. I want and need to do some independent learning. I shall want to learn up the standard repertoire first: Beethoven sonatas, Well-tempered clavier, and if there's still time before the end of the year, heavyweights by Chopin like the g minor ballade and some etudes.
I'd also have to firm up my repertoire, make sure none of it goes out the window. So far there's:
Chopin Variations Op. 9
Chopin Scherzo No. 2
Mozart A minor sonata K310
Mozart A major sonata K331
Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody 13
Liszt Mephisto Waltz No. 4
Ravel Sonatine
Ravel Menuet Antique
Ravel Jeux Deau
Mendelssohn Rondo Capriccoso Op. 14
Bach P&F C minor, G minor, A minor, book II
Bach Italien Konzert (should be mastered soon!)
Schubert C minor sonata first movement, D857 (master all!)
Villa Lobos Hommage a Chopin
Villa Lobos Poema Singelo
Godowsky Bromo Volcano and Sandsea at Daybreak from Java Suite
Ginastera Sonata No. 1, first movement (master all!)
Debussy La Plus que Lent
Beethoven Polonaise
Bortkiewicz Etude No. 9 in D-flat major
Scriabin piano concerto first movement (no hurry lol)
Rachmaninoff C# minor prelude, op. 3 no. 2
Ireland Rhapsody
Come to think of it I've actually quite a few pieces under my belt. I should be trying more baroque. There's Scarlatti! and Bach suites. And Mozart sonatas for technique.
Okay enough dreaming.
